NHL packer packer is in serious talks to return for 2015-16 season

The Detroit Red Wings are reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing back former forward Matt Tkachuk for the 2015-2016 season.

According to a report by ESPN.com, Tkochuk has a contract with the Detroit Red Wing’s AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, until the 2019-20 season.

Tkachk is expected to return to the Red Wings for the final season of his deal.

The 29-year-old Tkuchuk has recorded a total of 47 goals and 82 assists in 1,932 regular season games with the Red Wing.

Tksachuk was originally acquired by the Red Wind during the 2014-15 NHL Entry Draft and has played in each of the past two seasons for Grand Rapids.
