New York’s annual cigarette pack price has risen 4.5% to $3.99 per pack, according to a report from the City of New York.
The annual average price of a pack of cigarettes in New York has risen from $2.39 to $2:10 per pack.
The average price in the rest of the U.S. rose 1.2%.
The New York State Department of Health has set the price for cigarettes at $3 a pack, which is the current maximum allowed by the federal government.
The department is looking to increase the price to $4 a pack in 2018.
